Personalized Chess Board

This is one of my favorite chess boards I’ve made to date. I was originally contacted to create a board that fairly closely matches existing Chess Pieces that had been passed down within a family. The main grid is constructed of Cherry and Walnut, all pieces having been milled down from very rough stock lumber, which was a fun challenge to take on. The border/frame is made of Black walnut, with an accent strip of Mahogany, flanked by thin strips of Flamed Maple. The board has feet installed, and the family name fire branded along the accent strip.
